123,000 visitors on the tenth day of the Cairo International Book Fair

The tenth day of the 52nd session of the Cairo International Book Fair, which is held under the title “In reading is life,” witnessed the visit of 123,000 citizens to the exhibition halls, while adhering to all the precautionary measures approved by the Egyptian state to prevent the dangers of the Corona virus.

Dr. Haitham Al-Hajj Ali, head of the Egyptian General Book Organization, confirmed that the noticeable increase in the number of visitors came after the implementation of the decision to increase the capacity to 70%, which created a great impetus for the rates of public turnout, expecting a steady increase during the remaining days of the exhibition until the end of this week.

It is noteworthy that the 52nd Cairo International Book Fair will be held under the title “Reading is Life” and is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and was inaugurated by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister and artist, Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture. It will continue until July 15, with the participation of 1218 publishers from 25 Arab and foreign countries.

This year, the exhibition witnesses the launch of the Your Culture Your Book initiative, for which a special corner is allocated, and the prices of books in it range between 1 to 20 pounds as a maximum, in addition to the launch of a digital platform for the exhibition that allows booking entry tickets and viewing the exhibition map to know the locations of publishing houses and books they contain, in addition to allowing purchase Electronically, in addition to broadcasting the cultural activity accompanying the exhibition, including seminars, literary and artistic workshops, and providing virtual tours with 3D technology.
