The activities of the 52nd session of the Cairo International Book Fair begin today at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement, and its activities will continue until July 15, under the slogan “In reading is life.”
The Cairo International Book Fair, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, kicks off in its 52nd session under these exceptional circumstances. It is considered the largest cultural gathering in the world. It includes 1218 Arab and foreign publishers from 25 countries. The session is witnessing the launch of the “Your Culture is Your Book” initiative, during the current session of the fair. It includes hundreds of titles from publishing houses and sectors of the ministry, provided that the price of the book does not exceed twenty Egyptian pounds, in addition to the virtual activities that will be implemented through the electronic platform of the exhibition.
The Book Fair 2021 will open its doors to the public for free on July 1, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily except for Friday, when the fair’s doors open on that day from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The 52nd session of the Cairo International Book Fair will be held in four halls at the Egypt Center for International Conferences and Exhibitions on a total area of 40,000 square meters, of which (18,591 square meters) is exploited, and it hosts 756 pavilions. The number of publishers, Egyptian and foreign official bodies and agencies reached 1218, including 823 publishers. and (395) power of attorney.
This year, 25 countries from four continents are participating in the book fair, including 7 African countries: Sudan, South Sudan, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Eritrea, Somalia, 12 Asian countries: Iraq, Kuwait, UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine. , Bahrain, Syria, Japan, Korea, and 5 European countries are Serbia, Russia, Greece, Britain, Spain, in addition to America.
This year's exhibition is being held under these exceptional circumstances. It is the largest actual gathering of publishers in the world. The events include the launch of the Your Culture Your Book initiative, and a special corner will be allocated for the price of the book from EGP 20 to EGP 20. The exhibition is also witnessing for the first time this year the electronic platform, and it has the first parallel virtual exhibition with 3D technology, and all events and activities are launched virtually on the platform in order to preserve the Public safety and health for the public, as well as booking and obtaining exhibition tickets for free this year.
