Luxor, Thebes, was called the City of the Hundred Gates or the City of the Sun. It was the capital of Egypt in ancient Egyptian times, located on the banks of the Nile, which divides it into two halves, the eastern and western mainland.

The area of ​​Luxor is about 416 km², the inhabited area is 208 km², and its population is approximately 487,896 people, according to the 2010 census. The villages belonging to it are Al-Bayadiya, Al-Adaisat Bahri, Al-Adaisat Qebili, Al-Toud, Al-Baghdadi, and Al-Hubail.
