The activities of the Aswan University Book Fair will start on December 24, at the university’s headquarters, and will continue until the 31st of the same month. All sectors of the Ministry of Culture, the Academy of Arts, Dar Al Ma'arif, Al-Ahram and major academic publishing houses, languages and youth publishing houses participate in the exhibition. Fifth evening.
The exhibition will be held inside the university campus in Sahara, and the area of the pavilions ranges from 9 to 12 meters, where the exhibition area ranges from 250 to 300 square meters. There will be offers for discounts by publishing houses to motivate students to acquire books, according to the instructions of Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem, Minister Culture, participation in the exhibition was made freely available to publishing houses and institutions involved, in support of the publishing industry in Egypt, and the opening of new markets for publishers.
The exhibition was dedicated to the sectors of the Ministry of Culture only, in which all other sectors of the Ministry of Culture participated in cooperation with the Egyptian Book Authority, which is the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, the Cultural Development Fund and the Supreme Council for Culture, but for the first time a group of Egyptian publishing houses was accompanied in addition to two press institutions, Al-Ahram Foundation and Dar Knowledge, in accordance with the agreements between the Egyptian General Authority for Books and Aswan University, which identified a number of publishing houses according to the needs of university students for books for those role, within the framework of the mission that the Ministry of Culture undertakes to spread culture and knowledge in all parts of Egypt.
The exhibition includes more than hundreds of titles in various general knowledge, arts and literature at reduced prices and subsidized by the state, in order to spread culture among university students, in addition to providing books and scientific references that students need in studying and preparing various researches.
It is scheduled to organize visits by bus to transport students from the rest of the colleges in the other campuses of the university in the deserts of energy engineering, education and medicine to the headquarters of the book fair in the new city of Aswan so that all university students benefit from this exhibition.
