CAIRO – 24 October 2021: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi approved Sunday the agreement between the governments of Egypt and Cyprus on eliminating double taxation in relation to income taxes and preventing and avoiding tax evasion, signed on October 8, 2019.

The decision was published in the Egyptian Gazette of one article, with reservations on the condition of ratification.

The House of Representatives approved this decision in its session on July 5, 2020.

Double taxation is the levying of tax by two or more jurisdictions on the same income, asset, or financial transaction.
