The fourth edition of the Cairo Saturday Walks Exhibition will kick off from November 11-22. The exhibition will be hosted at the NWT House in Maadi. Cairo Saturday Walks is an intimate showcase of Cairo's urban treasures.
The exhibition is founded by interior architect and photographer Karim El Hayawan.
‘’For almost 5 years now I’ve been blessed, inspired and intrigued by the special souls that make up the tribe of @cairosaturdaywalks . What started off as having Saturday being my only day to roam around Cairo shooting - sooner joined by a couple of dear friends Nour Kamel and Dina Elsheikh, branded by Taimour Othman , to the open platform that it is today. With over 500 people organically joining. To Exhibiting yearly with the proceeds of 4 exhibitions so far going back to the community.
With over 14000 photographs on #cairosaturdaywalks contributed by photographers, artists, local and international. - Paying homage to Cairo, the city that struggles to remain. With pillars like Raymond G. Khalife Akram Reda Amina Ayman Kadous Salih Basheer @ragz and @fariszeitoon who make sure the walks never stop and take the lead with all passion. Through this project El Hayawan pursues his passion for photography by walking down Cairo streets and alleyways and capturing all the dazzling scenes he could find.
"I started exploring the streets every Saturday as some sort of practice and then some friends started joining me," El Hayawan said to CNN Arabic. "It reached out to an international crowd. We created a hashtag on Instagram and everyone started pooling in their photographs."
Now many international and local photographers joined El Hayawan on his Saturday Morning Walks, showing through their photos the true beauty of Cairo.
