A celebration of "For the Love of Cairo" and an art exhibition about the capital at Bait Al-Sinari.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in cooperation with the Cairo Biography Initiative, is organizing a celebration in love with Cairo under the title “A Day in Cairo” on the occasion of the second anniversary of the initiative’s founding.


The celebration includes a rich and varied program; Where a documentary film will be shown under the title: From Its Fully Paths, dealing with the history of the city's historic neighborhoods and paths, and a video of the most important events of the biography of Cairo. Friends of the initiative and lovers of the city's heritage will present a number of artistic paragraphs that vary between storytelling, singing, playing and poetic recitation.

On the sidelines of the celebration, an exhibition of paintings by the Scottish painter Robert Hay that he painted for Cairo landmarks in the mid-19th century will be held, as well as contemporary photographs of the same paintings by the artist Shaima Fekry.

It is worth noting that the Cairo Biography Initiative is an initiative concerned with the history and heritage of the city of Cairo, which was established on September 26, 2020 and works to raise awareness of the city’s heritage through various activities. It deals with the history of the historical neighborhoods and paths of the city through several episodes on YouTube, as well as the activities of the “Heritage Sunday Walk” to tour the city and document its old neighborhoods and paths by photographing the heritage elements.
