Six Arab writers, who were shortlisted, in the Booker International Prize for Arabic Fiction, in its 2022 session, after announcing the six novels that made it to the short list, and they are: “The Cairo Makeover” by Tariq Imam, and “Dilshad - The Biography of Hunger and Satisfaction” by the writer Bushra Khalfan, “Rose Diaries” by Reem Al-Kamali, “The White Line of the Night” by Khaled Nasrallah, “Bread on Uncle Milad’s Table” by Muhammad Al-Naas, and “The Prisoner of the Portuguese” by Mohsen Al-Wakeili. Makit's Cairo novel
Tarek Imam, an Egyptian writer and novelist, born in 1977, works as a journalist. He served as deputy editor-in-chief of the Cairo Radio and Television magazine. He started writing early and published his first book of fiction, New Birds Unspoiled by the Air, in 1995.

Imam participated in the "Symposium" workshop organized by the International Prize for Arabic Fiction for Talented Young Writers in 2010. Some of his works have been translated into more than one language, and he won many Egyptian, Arab and international awards, including the State Encouragement Award in Egypt, the Sawiris Prize twice, the Central Prize of the Ministry of Culture The Egyptian twice, the Kuwaiti Suad Al-Sabah Award, and the Spanish Word Museum Award.

Bushra Khalfan is an Omani writer, novelist, poet and cultural activist. I wrote the article, and participated in the preparation and writing of some episodes of the cartoon series Day and Day in 2011.

Reem Al Kamali is a novelist, writer and researcher from the United Arab Emirates, born in 1972. She works in the press and culture. In addition, she has published several books, including the novel “Sultanate of Hormuz” 2013, which won the Al Owais Creativity Award 2015, and the novel “Dalma Statue” 2018. Which won the Sharjah Prize for Arab Creativity and the novel "Diary of a Rose" 2021.
Previously, Reem Al-Kamali participated in the "Symposium" workshop organized by the International Prize for Arabic Fiction for Talented Young Writers in 2015, where she worked on her novel "Dalma Statue".
Kuwaiti writer Khaled Al-Nasrallah
Novel The White Thread of the Night
Khaled Al-Nasrallah is a Kuwaiti novelist, born in 1987. He holds a BA in the field of physical education, and worked as a teacher at the Ministry of Education in the State of Kuwait. He published several articles in the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Wasat and Al-Qabas. He won first place in the "Al-Araby" magazine's live stories competition, and his novel "The Highest Gendarmerie" was longlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Prize, in 2017.

Mohsen El Wakili is a Moroccan writer

Mohsen El Wukili is a Moroccan writer, born in Taza, Morocco, in 1978. He has won numerous literary prizes in theatre, story and novel. He published his first collection of short stories entitled "The Dawn of Anger" in 2009, then his first novel, "The Winds of August" in 2013, which won the Sharjah Prize for Arab Creativity in the same year. His novel "The Wind of Shirk" 2016 was shortlisted in the Sheikh Zayed Prize, in the category of young writers, and his shortlist "Teh" won the 2016 Ghassan Kanafani Prize for Narrative.
Each of the six shortlisted nominees will receive $10,000, and the grand prize winner will receive an additional $50,000. The winning novel will be announced on May 22.
