Egyptian film "Luxor" will screen at the closing ceremony of the first edition of Amman International Film Festival.
''Luxor", directed by Zeina Durra and produced by Mohamed Hefzy, was selected to screen at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Czech Republic (3-11 July). The film was selected among the festival's robust line up of 15 films that will screen at 96 film theatres across 80 cities.
Written and directed by Zeina Durra, "Luxor" follows the story of British aid worker Hana who returns to the ancient city of Luxor and comes across Sultan, a talented archaeologist and former lover. As she wanders, haunted by the familiar place, she struggles to reconcile the choices of the past with the uncertainty of the present.
"Luxor" stars British actress Andrea Riseborough (from Birdman), French-Lebanese star Karim Saleh (from Vice), and Egyptian star Shereen Reda (from Photocopy), as well as Michael Landes, Salima Ikram and Shahira Fahmy.
The Egyptian-Emirati-British film is a co-production of Film Clinic, in association with Film Factory and Front Row Filmed Entertainment, which distributes the film in the Arab world, while Totem Films handles its international sales, and Creative Artists Agency handles its distribution in North America. The film is executive produced by the BAFTA award winner and Oscar®-nominee Paul Webster.

Three of its film productions got selected as Egypt's official submission to the Academy Awards for Best Foreign-Language Film, and they are "Clash", "Sheikh Jackson", and "Yomeddine". Film Clinic's repertoire includes a number of box-office hits, including "Sameer, Shaheer & Baheer" (2010), "Banat El-A'am" (2012), "Excuse My French" (2014) and "Hepta: The Last Lecture" (2016).
