The prince recommended that after his death the palace be a museum that enjoys the beauty of its visiting artists, and after the 1952 revolution and the nationalization of the property of the family of Muhammad Ali Pasha, the palace was entrusted to the management of recovered funds, and its contents were taken over by the Egyptian Tourism Company, and in 1991 it created a dispute over the palace between the holding company and the management of funds. By the decision of the Council of Ministers to transform it into a museum and remove and demolish anything that distorts the beauty of the palace.
