Egypt's Sisi reviews bilateral relations with Iraqi president ahead of Baghdad cooperation conference

CAIRO - 28 August 2021: Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting on Saturday with his Iraqi counterpart Barham Salih at Baghdad Presidential Palace to discuss bilateral relations and other issues of mutual concern ahead of the start of “the Baghdad Cooperation and Partnership” conference

President Sisi expressed Egypt’s keenness to provide full support for the Iraqi people in all fields, within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism with Jordan, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Radi in a statement.


During their meeting, both presidents discussed the executive process of the joint projects between Egypt, Iraq and Jordan.

Meanwhile, President Sisi also met with Prime minister of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, on the sidelines of the conference on Saturday.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed to the Prime minister of Kuwait that Egypt and Kuwait have unified destiny and future, said Bassam Radi.

President Sisi affirmed Egypt's keenness to develop close and distinguished cooperation with Kuwait at all levels, saying “the security of the Gulf region closely connects to Egypt’s national security.”
